Art As Social Praxis

A 80+ page art publication showcasing Theodore Harris' collection for the show "Art As Social Praxis"

The Vision

Theodore A. Harris is a Philadelphia based multimedia artist, author, Co-founder of the Anti-Graffiti Network/Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, director and Founder of The Institute of Advanced Study in Black Aesthetics. The primary goal of this project was to join Harris’ visually intense art pieces with his work as an author and community member. Thus the Art As Social Praxis catalog was created to combine his artwork, personal essays, and essays written about his work.

The Process

Over the course of a year we compiled over 40 art pieces, 3 essays, and multiple other sources to create an 80-page publication, in time for the showcase at the Linfield University gallery. The catalog was distributed to universities and colleges nationwide, providing a platform for Harris to share his beliefs with students and faculty alike.

The Deliverables

The client received 50+ printed and bound catalogs to share across the nation.
